Late last year, till almost spring this year, Yorkshire were in disarray: Anthony McGrath straining to break contract and leave, no captain, no director of cricket. Sussex captain Chris Adams was set to join as captain (and director), but apparently bottled out.

Then, things took massive turn for better, w Darren Gough restored to side and made captain, Martyn Moxon back to Yorks to become director of cricket.
From looking like no-hopers for anything, Yorks looked resurgent; started really well, and till a few days ago looked like contenders for the county championship.

Then – oh dear! – came massive drubbing by Adams’ Sussex side: second worst innings defeat in Yorkshire’s history, even tho they had (at least sometimes) test players Vaughan, McGrath, Inzamam, Rudolph, and Hoggard.
