When I used only Mambo 4.5.0, the "Frontpage" was a component, controlled via the components listing. Through this, I could readily do things like arrange the order of the items appearing on the frontpage, choose how many items appeared there, how many appeared with introductory text, and whether to have all one column, or a leading item, then two columns. But after upgrading to 4.5.2, things changed. Instead, I find a Frontpage Manager, but this does nothing save control order of items, and publish/unpublish them on the Frontpage. How, then, to control how many items appear, how many with introductory text, whether or no to have columns? I tried "Help", but no joy, and eventually found answers via forums. The answer is in the linking. You look for the mainmenu (under Menu in admin), click on the top item in this - by default, it's Frontpage (component thingy) - and suddenly, you've more choices for the Frontpage behaviour than you can shake a stick at. (Yes, this seems related to recent Mambo shift that I think moves away from Power in Simplicity, to giving all manner of choices for behaviours for customised links.) The choices are "Parameters". Can choose how many leading items to show, full width (as introductory text); how many more items to show with introductory text, and how many columns to show them in; how many more items should appear purely as links; whether to include photos; what text - if any - to use as title at top of page (this isn't head code page title, but a title appearing as part of the main page). Plenty more choices, but I'm not going to list them just now in case I get a headache.
